Padel-Television will be broadcasting the CUPRA Swedish Padel Tour (SPT) and the Swedish Padel Championships (SM) through its streaming service. Padel-Television will offer all matches with commentary and a studio. The three-year agreement between Padel-Television and the Swedish Padel Federation is worth over one million kronor per year($96,794.18). The agreement will allow the Federation to further finance and develop its activities, including national teams, prize money for the SPT, youth development, and support for clubs. The Federation will soon initiate an external bidding process for the broadcasting rights as the current agreement will expire by the end of 2023.
In other news, the Swedish Padel Federation recently presented statistics showing an increase in the number of players joining clubs, more children and youth participating, and a rise in licensed tournament players. While there was a slight decrease in the number of booked court hours, the Federation notes that the trend of organized play through clubs, courses, and leagues is growing. The Federation sees strong potential for further growth and development of padel through club-based activities and a robust sports community.
